For sale here is a FE Thomas Dirigo Bamboo Rod 8' 3/2 for a 3-4 weight line. Serial #7 on the butt cap dating the rod to 1917. Gold silks with full intermediates. Agate stripping guide. Cigar grip with slight ridging. Nickel silver sliding band reel seat. Ferrule sizes 14/64 and 9/64 with witness marks and a great fit. The rod has a classic medium-action that is very smooth. Nearly all of the wraps are original. There may have been an thin overcoat of varnish applied at some point in the rod's life. No repairs are evident however. Comes in original heavy canvas bag and bamboo tip tube with brass fittings. This is a wonderful fly rod from the golden age of bamboo that is sure not to disappoint.
