For sale here is a classic Edward Vom Hofe Model 423 "Restigouche" Salmon fly reel in excellent overall condition. Size 2/0 - 3 3/8" diameter, spool width of 1 3/8" and weighs 10 1/2 oz. This reel carries the 1896 patent on the sliding oil cap. German silver safety bands and pair of double roller bars. The reel has a strong adjustable drag and click. This reel has the seven detent arrowhead pointer drag feature with very bright red dot indicators. The offset reel foot is full length, unmolested, and includes a 2/0 marking on it and serial number R460 dating the reel to 1925. The reel comes with what appears to be its original leather case in good condition (the strap has become detached but can be sewn back on easily enough), marked 2 0 on the back. The attached catalog scan is from 1928. You will not be disappointed!

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
