For sale here is a Julius Vom Hofe salmon reel. 4.25" diameter and 1.65" pillar length, which approximates the spool width at its widest point. The reel weighs 19 1/2 oz. German silver and hard rubber construction. Adjustable drag. The spool flanges and reel foot are also nickel silver. The hard rubber is in fine condition with no chips or cracks. The screws also remain in excellent condition. The rosette washers used on the backplate are a highly unusual feature rarely seen on a Vom Hofe fly reel. The nickel silver rings are ding-free. The reel foot is also straight and unaltered.
