For sale here is a beautiful rod from J.D. (Jeff) Wagner - a Model 273-FS -- 7'3" 2/2 4-5wt bamboo rod from his Signature series. Serial no. 502-24. The rod is in near mint condition. All sections are full length and straight.
The rod features darkly tempered flats with wonderful glass-like varnish. It has a taper not unlike the Paul Young Driggs River rod. I would call it a medium fast 4 wt and prefer it as a fully-loading parabolic 5 wt. Transparent dark amber colored wraps with black wraps at the ferrules. Bright guides. Agate stripping guide. Handsome ring hook keeper in a twisted rope pattern. Knurled nickel silver checks. The cigar grip measures 6". Nickel silver up-locking reel seat over a fine mortised walnut spacer. The Swiss-style ferrules have a perfect fit, nice and snug. The rod weighs 4.35 oz.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items. Due to the importance of packing items carefully please allow up to two weeks for arrival (depending on how busy we are) though we certainly do our best to get items to you as expeditiously as possible.

- Unless otherwise noted, all items come with a 3-day inspection period during which they can be returned to us for a full refund (provided that they are in the same condition in which they left our shop). Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. If an item is returned, we will issue a refund within 10 days upon receipt.
