For sale here is a stunning Daryll Whitehead Presentation Grade bamboo rod. 7'6 3/2 for a 5 weight line. Serial no. 221. The rod remains in mint condition with the plastic shrinkwrap still on the grip. All sections are arrow straight.
The rod features straw colored cane with black wraps and a light gold tipping. Blued guides with a beautiful creme and black speckled agate stripping guide. Mammoth ivory and nickel silver winding check. Reverse half wells grip 5 1/2" in length with a rather mild taper. Nickel silver up-locking reel seat over a mortised fossilized mammoth ivory spacer. The seat is beautifully engraved by Paulo Barbetti featuring the serial number as well as maker seated in a leaf pattern. The Swiss-style size 10/64 and 14/64 also feature engravings and include fine mammoth ivory ferrule plugs. The fit is perfect. The rod weighs 4.50 oz. The action is a wonderfully smooth and crisp medium-fast dry-fly.
Includes original bag and tube with brass fittings and label.

- We ship at cost to the buyer and in the majority of cases do so via UPS with full insurance and signature. There are cheaper options but our experience has been that you get what you pay for and that it's not worth taking risks when shipping what are often one-of-a-kind items.
