For sale here is a R.L. Winston quadrate bamboo rod - 7'9" 2/2 for a 4 or 5 weight line. Serial no. 3169. Made in 1996. The rod is in excellent+ condition having been fished very sparingly and very well cared for by its original and only owner. All sections are full length and straight.

Moderately tempered cane with transparent honey-colored wraps. Oxblood tipping at the winding check, signature wrap, ferrules, and tip-tops. The script remains clean and bold, the tips are numbered for convenience. Bright red agate stripping guide with bright guides. Bronzed ring hook keeper. Hexagonal bamboo winding check. Reverse half wells grip, 5 7/8" in length with only the lightest of handling marks. Nickel silver down-locking reel seat over a stunning Rewarewa (New Zealand honeysuckle) spacer. The R.L. Winston logo laser engraved on the underside of the butt cap. The ferrule fit is perfect. The rod weighs 4.15 oz. though it feels lighter in hand. The action is medium fast. The rod features a wonderful balance between finesse and power, making this an exemplary all-around trout rod. Includes original bag and brown powder coated tube with label and brass fittings.
