A nice Darryl Whitehead bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for #4 or #5 line. Serial #75. 4.3 ounces. Mint unfished condition. Medium fast action. The cane is a light chestnut oven temper color and features a spiral node pattern. Brown main wraps with small black edges. Banded agate stripper and black snake guides. Swiss super Z style ferrules that have been engraved by Paolo Barbetti (so is the screwlock pocket cap and the bottom plug). The female ferrule is fitted with an ornate ferrule plug. The grip is 5 1/2" shaped to a Western profile. As mentioned, the downlocking nickel silver screwlock is heavily engraved and the spacer is a spectacular piece of varnished and somewhat banded walnut. The rod bag is brown cloth with a leather pull tab and packs into a leather rod tube stamped "DL Whitehead, Rod Co" on the top and "#75" on the bottom.
