A nice Darryl Whitehead bamboo fly rod, 7', 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #138. The rod weighs 3 ounces on my scale. Mint, uncast condition. Medium dry fly action. Blonde cane done in a three up node pattern. The main wraps are light apricot color with maroon accents on all wraps except for the ferrule wraps which are red with black edges. Gray agate stripper and black snake guides and tip tops. The swiss style ferrules are fully engraved as are the nickel silver cap and ring. The 5 1/2" cork grip is shaped to a blunt cigar weighted to the front third. The slide band seat is some of the best burl walnut with a smoky veins that I have ever seen. As mentioned, the cap and ring are fully engraved. The rod packs into a mustard color rod bag has a leather pull tab. The leather tube was done by "F Mariner / Seattle WA".
