A nice FE Thomas Dirigo, 9', 3-piece, 2-tip, built for a #6 or #7 line. Fast action. 6.5 ounces. "H.398" stamped in the bottom of the pocket cap. Lightly used original condition. The front cork check has a split. There is a little bit of flattening to the inner reverse twist snake guides. The rod is wrapped maroon with a black edge at the keeper and male ferrules. The randomly spaced nodes are darker than the cane, indicating an oven temper. The butt shows a lot of seaminess. The ferrules are inexpensive drawn step-style with soldered water plugs. The grip is 6 3/4" long turned to a heavy cigar profile. The downlocking screwlock is turned in brass, not the usual aluminum. The pocket cap is nickel silver while the spacer looks like black bakelite. The ferrule fits are good and all the sections are straight. A brown poplin bag is fitted to the rod and the tube is original with brass fittings.
