A HL Leonard Model 40H bamboo fly rod, 8', 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #6 line. Serial #3199 with a manufacture date circa 1975 or 1976. 4.6 ounces. Medium action. Used but in good condition. Light blonde cane done in a three up node pattern. Tan color main wraps with brown edges and dark brown at the keeper and ferrules. Ceramic stripper and chrome guides. The step ferrules are polished bright and fit well. 6 1/2" long grip that's turned to a western style with a hidden pocket cap in the heel. The seat is an aluminum uplock with the die stamp "The Leonard Rod, HLL Leonard Rod Co, Makers". Tan poplin bag with stiffener and a leather rod tube with the HLL brand on top (the tube is in poor-ish condition).
