An HL Leonard Model 50-6 bamboo fly rod, 8', 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #5 line. Serial #81145 with a 1981 manufacture date. Fast DF action. This rod has seen very light use with just a bit of grip soiling and a few ring marks on the reel seat spacer. Blonde cane with red main wraps, signatures, and intermediates. The step ferrules are polished bright and the rod sports a carbide stripper and black snake guides. The rod weighs 4.7 ounces. The cork grip is 6" and turned to a slim cigar profile. The reel seat is a mortised striped maple with a bright cap and ring. The butt cap stamp reads "HL Leonard Rod Co / The Rod Maker / Since 1869". Packed in a tan bag and the original tube however one of Dana Gray's tops has been used and the tube threads do not match the collar.
