A nice Jim Schaaf fly rod, 6'9", 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #4 line. Serial #69.6-88. Medium action. Mint condition. Wheatstraw oven tempered cane. The main wraps are yellow-gold with maroon edges. Swiss style ferrules are oxidized. The stripping guide is an agate and the snake guides are black. Excellent varnish. The grip is 5" long and styled to a half wells profile. The all cork reel seat is a nickel silver formed pocket cap and ring, both oxidized. The pocket cap is stamped "Jim Schaaf, Maker" in a cartouche. The rod is packed in a maroon cloth bag and comes in a brushed aluminum tube with brass fixtures and a cloth outer bag.
