A nice Mike Clark (South Creek Limited) bamboo fly rod, 8'6", 3-piece, 2-tip, built for a #5. This is one of Mike's signature series "Gierach, Best Special Taper" models and has serial #201025. Medium slow action. 5.7 ounces. Mint condition. Light flamed cane with spiral nodes that are nice and small thanks to pressing. Maroon wraps with black edges. The stripping guide is a clear agate with red bands. Snake brand guides. Very nice varnish coats. The ferrules are oxidized super Z style. The grip is 6 1/2" long made from 1/4" corks and shaped to a medium cigar profile. The reel seat spacer is a varnished, mortised walnut. The seat hardware is a downlocking screwlock in nickel silver with ornate engraving on the nut, slide, and cap. "LPM" engraved on the bottom of the butt cap, which is the owner's initials. The rod bag is a blue cloth and the aluminum tube is painted black with brass hardware and has the south creek data sticker attached.
