An Orvis Battenkill bamboo fly rod, 7'6", 3-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #6 line. Impregnated model. The rod weighs 4.7 ounces on my scale. Serial #66606 which dates it to 1972. Medium fast action, a little quicker than most Orvis rods, and the rod is nice and straight. Excellent overall condition with few signs of use that I could find. Darker cane done in a three up node pattern. Wrapped in red throughout with a carbide stripper and chrome guides and tip tops. The grip is just shy of 7" and is shaped to a western profile with a hidden pocket cap in the heel. Large bright front cork check. The reel seat features an uplocking slide band with nickel silver threaded barrel and cap, while the ring is aluminum. The spacer is a mortised and stabilized burl. The rod packs into a green cloth bag and a black anodized aluminum tube with brass fittings and the Orvis data sticker affixed to it.
