A nice RL Winston bamboo rod, 7'9", 3-piece, 2-tip, built for a #4 line. Serial number 4295, just after the Brackett era. Medium fast action. The inscription on the rod shaft gives the weight as 3 ounces but my scale has it at 4.3. Mint condition, with no grip soiling or brassing to the inner guides. The cane color is a light wheatstraw in the three up node configuration. Wraps are light brown with maroon edges at the keeper, ferrules, and tip-tops. Banded agate stripper and black snake brand guides. The grip is 6 1/2" long and done in a full wells configuration. The reel seat is an uplocking screw lock of polished nickel silver with a hidden pocket cap. "RL Winston, Rod Co" printed on the end cap in an oval cartouche. Packs in the original bag with the Winston logo and a brown crackle aluminum tube with gold anodized top and collar and the Winston data sticker.
