For sale here is an early Scott Rod Co. PowR-Ply Model F-92 -- 9' 10-11wt 2 pc. fiberglass fly rod. Serial no. A-314. Made during the San Francisco-era during the late 1970's to early 1980's. The rod remains in excellent+ and appears to have been fished very little if at all.
The rod features a mustard yellow sanded glass blank with matching gold wraps. Bright guides. The script remains as clean and bold as the day it was written. U-shaped hook keeper. The full wells grip is 8" in length with only light handling marks. Gold anodized aluminum up-locking reel seat with a 2 1/2" cork/foam fighting butt. The rod features spigot ferrules which Scott was pioneering the use of along with a few other companies at the time. The fit is perfect with a 1/4" gap between sections to account for wear over time. Black witness marks. The rod weighs 6.35 oz. Fast side of medium fast action.
Includes the original bag and tube with early paper label. Don't pass up this early glass rod. A gem for the Scott collector!
