A nice Thomas and Thomas Paradigm bamboo fly rod, 8', 2-piece, 2-tip, and built for a #5 line. Serial #3463. Weighs 4.9 ounces on my scale. Impregnated model. Medium to medium-fast action. The rod has seen a fair amount of use, witnessed by soiling to the grip and some wear to the inner guides, yet the tips are straight and there are no hook digs or other issues that I could find. The cane is oven tempered medium brown with dark nodes in a three up node configuration. The main wraps are light yellow with light brown edges and an extra band of black at the keeper and tip tops. Wrapped black at the ferrules. The ferrules are oxidized and done in a swiss style with a collar on the male. The female has a tiny T&T log stamp. The grip is 6" long and shaped to a western profile with a hidden pocket cap for the uplocking screwlock. The screwlock barrel is aluminum with an aluminum nut and the slide is nickel silver with a "Thomas and Thomas, Makers" die stamp. The bottom cap is also nickel silver. The spacer is varnished walnut. The rod packs into a tan colored cloth bag and aluminum tube with brass hardware.
