A superb Thomas and Thomas salmon rod, 8'6", 2-piece, 2-tip, built for a #8 line. Weighs 7.5 ounces. Has a fighting butt included in the bag. The rod is in lightly used condition with a small amount of hand soiling to the grip. The cane is done in the later banded flame tone temper and three-up node construction. The rod is varnished and I have been unable to spot any defects in it. Lettered "8 1/2' #8 Salmon No 5635" on the wrap flat. Carbide stripper and chrome guides and top-tops. Guides are wrapped in a very light brown silk with darker brown edges and a band of black at the keeper and tip-tops. The T&T style swiss ferrule has a collar soldered on the male ferrules and is polished bright. The grip is 7" long and a western style with the hidden pocket cap. The reel seat is an all nickel silver uplocking crew lock with a detached slide. The slide is stamped "Thomas and Thomas". The flatted varnished spacer is a spectacular piece of Turkish gun stock grade walnut shot through with smokey bands. The bottom of the seat pulls out to allow the fighting butt to be inserted. Original cloth bag and a black crackle paint tube with brass caps on both ends and the T&T data sticker on the tube.
