A Dickerson Model 8013 bamboo fly rod, 8', 2-piece, 2-tips, built for a #5 line. The overall condition is fair to poor. 1 tip is 1/2" short and has an extensive overwrap below the third guide down from the tip. The full length tip has re-wraps on the bottom two guides. The stripping guide on the butt has some bend to it and the wrap is damaged. The "D" in the Dickerson script is 90% gone. The rod weighs 4.1 ounces. The corrosion on the male ferrule does not allow me to assess the rod action or straightness. The cane color is a medium wheatstraw done in a three up node pattern. The wraps are brown with black edges. The varnish condition is fair to poor. The step ferrules are oxidized. The grip is a 5 1/2" long blunt cigar. The downlocking screwlock and pocket cap look original. The varnished walnut spacer has poor quality varnish. The rod is packed into a light brown cloth bag with the aluminum tube with some dents and scratches but it is original. A good candidate here for someone who would like to refinish one of Dickerson's best loved tapers and turn it into a good fishable rod.
